Dago Beda
Dago Beda joined the Royal Government of Bhutan, Department of Tourism, Sales and Marketing Manager as the first graduate and the first female officer.After the privatization of tourism Dago together with two colleagues from the tourism department started Etho Metho Tours & Treks in 1990. She was instrumental in framing the policy of the Bhutanese Tourism Industry which is still in place today i.e. high value–low impact policy. Being an entrepreneur by nature, she has set up and invested in numerous business ventures. She is also on the board of many organizations. Dago is considered one of the pioneers of her generation and many younger women look up to her as a role model – a successful career woman in Bhutan.

Jochu Dorji
Jochu worked in the Department of Tourism and joined his colleagues Dago and Nim to form the company. With an excellent eye for details and numbers, Jochu has managed the company’s finances for over three decades and is known for his stringent financial oversight. He also managed the transport fleet of the company. Besides being a partner in the tour company, Jochu is involved in the real estate, construction, and mining businesses. He loves to maintain a healthy lifestyle and enjoys playing archery. He also likes to give back to the local community by organizing religious and community events
Nim Gyaltshen
In the mid-70s, Nim left school to join the Guide Training Program established for the Coronation of His Majesty the 4th Druk Gyalpo (King). Shortly after, tourism was introduced, and he became a trekking and mountaineering guide, completing challenging treks in Bhutan, including the arduous Snowman Trek. When the tourism sector was privatized, he joined Dago and Johcu and established Etho Metho. Today, Nim is an enthusiastic mountain biker and an ultra-marathon runner. He has completed the Tour of the Dragon, the most difficult one-day bike race, and has participated in the New York Full Marathon, Tata – Mumbai Full Marathon, Everest Marathon, and several other international marathons. He has won several awards from bike and marathon races. Nim enjoys biking through the stunning rural countryside and villages. His other business ventures include a tyre dealership, real estate, hotels, and an archery shop.
T.Sangay Wangchuk
As a college student, Sangay dreamt of traveling through every corner of Bhutan. His dreams came true when he joined Etho Metho as a guide in 1991. His field expertise led him to work in the office, where he trained numerous guides and authored countless tour documents for the company. Sangay’s passion for Bhutan’s culture and ecology is conveyed in his book, “Seeing with the Third Eye: With Grandma in Rural Bhutan,” which blends local beliefs with modern ecological understandings. The book is a tribute to elders, a reflection on the current generation, and a connection to future generations.
In 2008, Sangay became a partner in the company. He continues to lead walking and spiritual trips. Sangay is the founder of Dhumra Farm Resort. Today, he runs his farm resort following ecotourism principles, with a strong focus on agro-tourism. Dhumra Farm Resort is situated on his family’s farm, which spans 7.1 acres. Sangay holds a BA degree from Sherbutse College in Bhutan and has participated in various tourism training programs from 1991 to 2018.
