About the Company

Etho Metho (Rhododendron in Dzongkha) is one of the oldest and most experienced tour operators in Bhutan. The company was founded in 1990 by Dago, Jochu & Nim who were colleagues in the former government-run Tourism Department. Etho Metho was formally established in 1991 when tourism was privatized. In 2008, Etho Metho became a private limited company with the addition of Sangay, a loyal employee, as the fourth director.
Through our collective experiences in the tourism industry and the goodwill generated from our clients and the local community, we have been able to rise from a very modest beginning to the very top. Currently, we have a total of 55 permanent staff comprising of an efficient office team, experienced guides and drivers, and a professionally trained trekking team. We also have a well maintained fleet of 25 Toyota vehicles.
We combine our passion, experience, and knowledge to offer customized travel from exciting adventures to insightful journeys. We strive to provide value-added services to discerning travelers who come to experience our country. Equipped with a team of dedicated professionals and supported by an excellent infrastructure, we are committed to offering you the very best. We will guide you to all that is special about Bhutan, whether it is gazing at beautiful snowcapped mountains, attending the Kingdom’s colorful festivals or simply the charm and gracious hospitality of the people. Mindful of the fragility of the natural environment, our aim is to “take nothing but photographs and leave nothing but footprints” when introducing our visitors to this small, green Himalayan jewel – Bhutan. Let us help you begin your journey into an enchanted realm.
